In Martell, my valley It is a very personal exhibition about private life. From the beginning the people of Martell tell us something about the hard times they’ve had and have to live. Each exhibit helps illustrates periods such as lack of food, their love towards their own country, and the difficult life of the mountain farmers.

The heart of the museum, like in the home of the mountain farmers, is the “Stube”, a typical living room. Here is an audiovisual in which the last Martell midwife tells the story of her life.
The third floor is dedicated to faith and superstition. Processions and prayers, holiness and traditional weddings are shown as The Light, in a mystic, dark and deep environment.
The tradition of preserving their own will is called the “Preservation of time flow”. Tradition is a chronological memory of what we already know mixed with the ongoing knowledge and requirements of today, together it continues to last into the future. A lot of interesting people live in Martell, they have come from ancient places with strong traditions. They are able to tell us many interesting stories about a life full of work. So often what was already forgotten remains alive. |
